Better Serving Our Community in Wesley Chapel
Brand New YMCA Opening Summer 2026!
Since its inception in 1889, the Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA has focused on strengthening the community. As a top-rated 4-star organization with Charity Navigator, the Tampa YMCA is a trusted and leading non-profit open and welcoming to all, ensuring that everyone has access to the essentials needed to learn, grow, and thrive.
The Y believes in identifying needs and working toward innovative solutions and programs that truly make a difference. We also believe lasting personal and social change is best accomplished when we all work together to invest in our kids, our health and our neighbors. Partnership support helps our Y address challenging issues facing our community.
Everyone deserves a state-of-the-art YMCA family center to provide quality programs and services. Accordingly, the Tampa Y will construct a new health and wellness family center in Wesley Chapel, the Mary W. Sierra Family YMCA.

Follow the Progress of the Mary W. Sierra YMCA...

The construction of the Mary W. Sierra Family YMCA in Wesley Chapel is making exciting progress. As of mid-June, more than 3,000 truckloads of fill have been delivered to the site, raising the building area by four feet in preparation for the main building pad. The import of fill is expected to be complete by mid-July!
Over the next two weeks, crews will begin installing storm sewer and domestic water lines. To minimize disruption to the surrounding area, roads are being cleaned multiple times each day, and site contractors are regularly watering down the area to reduce dust. Even more exciting, construction is currently running approximately one week ahead of schedule. Momentum continues to grow as we move closer to bringing this transformational new YMCA to life.
