Hundreds of local mothers got to be kids again while bonding with their sons at the Y. The Campo Family YMCA’s Inaugural Nerf & Ninja night had moms and their boys navigating a ninja course, battling in several Nerf wars and getting creative with ninja-themed crafts.   More than 215 guests showed up on Sept. 8 ready to battle! Moms even got to go head-to-head with their own blood in the Moms vs. Sons Nerf War. “We had such a blast,” testifies Maggie Spicher. “Truly a great night with my son.” Jaci Rain agrees, “My son and I had a blast. Your staff did a phenomenal job putting this event together. Thank you so much!”   The event was a spin-off of the Campo Y’s successful daddy-daughter dance in February. The hope is to turn both events into annual traditions. These are just examples of how the Y is strengthening families by getting them active and having fun together. Family-friendly socials and programming are planned at all our family Ys throughout the fall. From fall festivals, Halloween walks, Trunk or Treats to family runs, themed cookouts and fitness challenges, families can come to the Y to enjoy quality time together.   Click here to see more photos from the memorable Nerf & Ninjas night.
