Children canoe at Camp Cristina YMCA.

Tampa, FLA. (April 2, 2024) - The YMCA summer camp invites youth to discover who they are and what they want to become through creative play, swimming, sports and more. Every camp experience is crafted to promote the YMCA's four core values - caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

Summer camp is filled with fun, friends and, of course, adventure! No matter the camp location, campers will participate in themed activities that encourage them to try new things, engage in physical activity and foster meaningful connections.

"Summer camp is vital for a child's growth. At the end of each summer, we see the social and emotional growth our campers have, thanks to the implementation of our core values in the camp curriculum," explains Beth Gettig, Vice President of Youth Development at the YMCA of the Suncoast.

The YMCA of the Suncoast is expecting about 3,000 campers across all four counties, up from about 2,900 last year. Camp age range varies from Kindergarten to middle school, with a few middle school camps and some Counselor in Training (CIT) programs available for teens.

Register today at one of our YMCA summer camps and witness how your child thrives as they embody the values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
