At the Tampa YMCA, we are proud of our deep-rooted history of impacting lives by serving as inspiration for health and well-being for the children, families and seniors in our care. However, we are not alone in our mission to ensure that every individual reaches their full potential.

On November 2nd, the Tampa Bay community came together to celebrate and honor 13 outstanding volunteers. These volunteers have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to supporting the Y's fast programs, leaving a lasting impact for years to come.

The Tampa YMCA's Community Impact Celebration, sponsored by Regions, was held at the Tampa Theater. Roughly 300 guests enjoyed an evening showcasing the Tampa YMCA's robust impact on the community as videos, testimonials and stories were shared.

Matt Mitchell, CEO and President of the Tampa YMCA, presented Gary Koch with the 2023 Community Impact Award for his dedication and positive impact on the youth in our First Tee – Tampa Bay golf program. Gary's list of accomplishments is a story unto itself. He is a six-time PGA Tour winner, former ESPN/NBC Sports golf commentator and First Tee – Tampa Bay Board Chair.

Al Colby, a lawyer, lifelong friend and supporter of the YMCA as well as former Board Chair, was presented with the 2023 Tampa YMCA Red Triangle Award. The Red Triangle Award is given to a volunteer whose leadership and service reflect the countless lives transformed through their generous contributions.
