Swim School for Those in Brandon, Westchase, Bloomingdale, Valrico & Neighboring Cities

swim schoolIf you’re not sure at what age to send your child to swim school, your search may result in some conflicting messages. At the YMCA, we offer summer programs for kids of all ages and skill levels. Whether you choose to introduce your baby to the water as early as six months or prefer to wait until age five, there is never a bad time to equip your child with the skill of swimming.

Not only is swimming a practical skill for those in Florida and other tropical areas, but it can also become an exciting extracurricular activity for children with a healthy appetite for competition and personal growth. The unpopular truth is, however, that swimming isn’t all fun and games. At all levels of swim school and in summer programs, our licensed instructors teach the importance of water safety as well as tips and tricks to identifying and overcoming common swimming hazards and dangers.

In addition to our swim school, the YMCA offers a variety of summer programs for kids at branches throughout the Tampa Bay Area, such as:

  • YMCA Afterschool for K-5
  • Summer Camps
  • Kid Zone
  • First Tee Golf
  • Flag Football
  • Gymnastics Classes
  • Cheerleading Lessons
  • Volleyball Leagues
  • Basketball Leagues
  • Soccer Programs

No matter what program your child or children are most interested in, you’ll be able to enjoy the comfort of knowing that your child is in great hands at the YMCA. We hire only the most qualified counsellors to instruct our summer camps and ensure that the program runs smoothly.

With YMCA branches throughout Brandon, Westchase, Bloomingdale, Valrico and neighboring cities, sending your child to swim school or our after-school or summer youth programs is incredibly convenient.
