YMCA Relief Care

To serve and strengthen our community, the Tampa Y is offering all-day, school-age relief care for essential workers at 11 Family Center locations to help support the children of healthcare and emergency response professionals who are playing important roles combating the coronavirus.

This full day relief care will give your child(ren) the opportunity to engage in constructive activities; including arts and crafts, outdoor games, and time to focus on pre-assigned academics. In addition, all children in attendance will receive daily breakfast and lunch, complimentary of Hillsborough County Public School’s Nutrition and Culinary Services.

Each day starts at 7am and goes until 6pm. Please ensure your child(ren) are dressed in athletic attire, including sneakers. The number of staff and children present at each shift will be limited to allow social distancing.

Our Y staff will intentionally teach and encourage good hand hygiene, respiratory etiquette and follow a strict sick child/staff policy. For the safety and well-being of others in the program, those who are running a temperature of 100.4+ degrees cannot attend.

May 11, 2020 Update

Our Youth Relief Care will be offered through the week of May 26-29 with no care on Monday, May 25 to recognize the Memorial Day holiday. The program will conclude at the scheduled end of the school year, Friday, May 29.

If you continue to need care for your children, we encourage you to register for Y Summer Day Camp scheduled to begin on June 1. As we prepare for summer camp, we are securing supplies and implementing procedures that ensure your child’s continued safety as we abide by CDC guidelines and follow appropriate distancing measures. As you know from your child's experience with our Youth Relief Care, safety is our top priority, and we are committed to making our summer camps just as safe and fun. We hope you’ll continue to choose the Y for your childcare needs as we transition out of the school year and into summer break. We look forward to seeing you this summer!
