The Before & After School Enrichment team of role models engage and support every student in the program while leading them in curriculum-based activities including outdoor games, arts and crafts, STEM projects and provide assistance with homework. Ideal candidates are enthusiastic and compassionate individuals with leadership experience, excellent time management skills, and must enjoy working with children. AFTERSCHOOL COUNSELOR

 

This role is perfect for those who are interested in pursuing a career in youth development and/or child education. Afterschool Counselors are responsible for providing a safe and nurturing environment for elementary school age children. Each day after school is released, Counselors will lead children in activities including arts & crafts, STEM projects, character values, homework and indoor & outdoor games. This role is a challenging opportunity and a great first step in a youth development career.

 

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED
  • Must have at least 1 year experience providing child supervision, coaching youth sports, working with children, etc.
  • Must be available Monday 12:30pm – 6pm and Tuesday – Friday 1:30pm – 6pm

ASSISTANT SITE SUPERVISOR

 

This role is an entry-level leadership opportunity for those pursuing a career in youth development. Assistant Site Supervisors work with the Site Supervisor and Counselors to create and maintain a supportive and nurturing environment for elementary school age children. As a leader, the Assistant Site Supervisor is responsible for quarterly reviews with staff, assisting with bimonthly staff meetings, and must conduct staff-to-child ratio checks multiple times a day and communicate with parents. They will engage and encourage students and be a role model for Tampa’s youth. 

 

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED; preferred: at least 1 year toward a vocational certificate in child care, CDA, or Associates Degree or higher in child development
  • Must have at least 1 year experience providing child supervision, child education, working with children, etc.
  • Must have at least 1 year experience in a leadership role
  • Must complete 45 Hour DCF Training requirements
  • Must be available Monday 12:30pm – 6pm and Tuesday – Friday 1:30pm – 6pm

SITE SUPERVISOR

 

This role is for youth development leaders and professionals. Site Supervisors are responsible for creating a successful program by establishing a relationship with the school principal and community partners. Site Supervisors have several direct reports, organize and conduct bimonthly staff meetings, communicate with parents and suggest ideas and actions to improve the program. Responsibilities include maintaining a safe and nurturing environment for all, enforce safety procedures including the sign in/out process, and observe and coach staff. Site Supervisors keep accurate records, collect program dues, and must enjoy working with children. 

 

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED; preferred: at least 1 year toward a vocational certificate in child care, CDA, or Associates Degree or higher in child development
  • Must have at least 3 years experience providing child supervision, child education, working with children, etc.
  • Must have at least 1 year management experience
  • Must complete 45 Hour DCF Training requirements
  • Must be available Monday 12:30pm – 6pm and Tuesday – Friday 1:30pm – 6pm
