Imagine the last game of the soccer season for your 8 year child.  Your local YMCA Youth Sports Director approaches you with their iPad and asks “I see your coach will be volunteering for the upcoming Basketball season, and three of your current teammates and friends have already registered.  Would you like for me to register you as well?"

Since time is tight and you need to get home for dinner, you politely decline as it may take too long.  But something has changed...something is new!

“I can do it right now and it will take 30 seconds!”  As you remember your wallet is in the car, the staff member states, “No problem!  We have all your information in our secure site so I have it all right here.  OK, you’re all set!  And I just sent your receipt to your email!”  Just then your phone buzzes and there it is!

People today want choices.  People like quicker and more efficient transactions.  And in response to these desires, the Tampa Y is going techno!

Happy members are our number one priority!  And soon new apps for smart phones will allow members to access facilities with their phone instead of a membership card.  New ipad kiosks will begin showing up in various locations throughout the Y to give you transactional, real-time choices.    

The first Y to go techno will be the South Tampa Family YMCA.  Five iPad kiosks will be placed in the building – three in the program sign up area, one in the basketball gymnasium and one in the wellness area.  In addition, each program staff member will have an iPad so they can input data and assist members with their registration process.
