About Us The Family Child Care – TA program is part of the Rural Social Services Partnership, Inc. (RSSP) that is funded by the Children’s Board of Hillsborough County to provide services and supports to residents in the rural areas of East and South Hillsborough County. East County: Brandon, Dover, Mango, Plant City (and surrounding area), Seffner, Thonotosassa, and Valrico South County: Apollo Beach, Balm/Wimauma, Gibsonton, Riverview, Ruskin, and Sun City Center The FCC-TA program provides technical support and limited financial assistance to individuals who are interested in becoming licensed, family child care home providers. One-on-one, in-home technical assistance is available to help with meeting all necessary requirements for the Hillsborough County licensing inspection process for opening and operating a family child care home. The project’s goal is to assist a minimum of 20 potential providers each contract year in order to prepare them to qualify for licensing. Since 2003 the project has helped over 100 providers become licensed. Utilizing the technical training and small business supportive services, the majority have been in operation two years or longer.
