As parents, we want our kids to grow up to be healthy, confident and happy adults. At the Tampa Y, we start instilling those qualities in our children at a young age by introducing them to sports. One of our most popular youth sports programs, flag football, is a great way to help kids learn teamwork skills and get in the habit of staying healthy through physical activity.
Our young football players work with volunteer coaches who are committed to teaching the skills of the game. They ensure that every player has fun and gains self-confidence throughout the season.
Flag football players will learn the rules of the game and how cooperate with their teammates, along with the fundamental skills of throwing, kicking, catching and running. Kids will participate in practice and games, learning how to run plays, work as a team and follow rules.
