The Northwest YMCA has made a commitment to offering teens opportunities to reach their fullest potential.  

 

JUNIOR LIFEGUARD PROGRAM

Summer-Long Aquatic Leadership Development Program for Teens

Ages: 14 -15 year olds

 

Cost:  

$250 YMCA Members

$350 Program Members

Includes all trainings, meetings, program materials, shirts & administrative fees for volunteer hour management.

 

Interested participants should complete application and turn in with payment by May 26.  Applications will be considered in the order they are received.  Spots are very limited.

Y CORPS

Service Projects for High School Teens

Earn community service hours and have fun!

Ages: 14-18

 

PROJECTS OFFERED:

Tues, July 1: Y Nationals Gymnastics Opening Ceremony

Mon, July 21: Beach Clean Up

Friday, Aug 1:  Feeding America Tampa Bay

Friday, Aug 8: Metropolitan Ministries

 

COST: $20 per project

LIT CAMP

Full day camp program for 12-14 year olds designed to develop leadership skills, provide service opportunities and help teens discover their unique skills and abilities.  Participants will explore what it means to be a leader, develop and participate in projects to serve others and learn valuable job readiness and life skills.  Participants will be required to adhere to the LIT Code of Conduct at all times and failure to do so may result in removal from the program.  

 

LIT Camp is offered weekly throughout the summer.

Cost: $140/week for Facility Members & $190/week for Program Members

LEADERS' CLUB

Leaders’ Club is a school-year program for teens in 7th-12th grades who are interested in developing servant-leadership skills and using their ideas, strengths, and interests to make a difference.  Leaders’ Club, requires active participation in club meetings & events, volunteer hour minimums and an expectation to work towards fitness goals and live a healthier, more active lifestyle. Informational meeting will be held at the beginning of the school year.  To be added to the interest list for this very popular program for the 2014-2015 school year please click here.
